De zenuw die bekneld raakt, de nervus tibialis posterior, loopt aan de binnenzijde van de achtervoet, net onder de enkel, door de tarsale tunnel. In veel gevallen is de enkel in het verleden <a href=\"\/klachten\/enkel\/verzwikte-enkel\/\">verzwikt<\/a> of beschadigd, wat kan leiden tot een verdikking of zwelling aan de binnenzijde van de enkel. Dit kan onder meer gericht schoenadvies of podotherapeutische zolen omvatten. Wanneer de podotherapeut vaststelt dat de voet een afwijkende stand heeft, kunnen er <a href=\"\/behandeling\/steunzolen\/\">podotherapeutische zolen<\/a> gemaakt worden. Deze steunzolen helpen de voetstand te verbeteren, zodat de zenuw meer ruimte krijgt.
